A LONG HOT SUMMER

Wow! It is such a long hot summer! We have been swimming at the local river (about a kilometre up the road) and there is a permanent pool up in the back yard. We used the blow up pool for ages but it got really dirty and it takes ages to clean it properly. Now we use a makeshift but much easier to clean one - a large sheet of plastic over a tractor inner tube! To clean it, we just tip the water out, lay the plastic flat and wash!
When Anika came to play, Jack dragged them about on an old large cardboard box. The kids thought it was hilarious.

Xander's favourite in this heat is iceblocks and when Oma and Opa came for tea he got a real treat because they bought us all icecreams! YUM!!
