We made the most of a gorgeous Autumn day (which happened to be mother's day) and had an outing. We went to Massey University which I happen to know is a great place to go in Autumn for all the leaves! Just where I remember there being lots - there were! Xander had a blast collecting them up and then jumping on them. Then there were the leaf throwing competitions. Don't worry - it didn't end in tears. We had to drag Xander away after a long play with the promise of the horse to see...
The horses are in a nearby paddock as part of the veterinary
school I think. Anyway, I knew about them from when I used to teach up at the Massey Childcare Centre (just like how I knew about all the lovely leaves!!) Xander was a bit edgy because one was soooo friendly. And HUGE!!

Xander was a bit edgy because one was soooo friendly. And HUGE!! After that, we went to the esplanade. Xander LOVES it there. It has all the major requirements: A huge slide, room to run, things to climb and ducks. It
's a bit scary watching him go down a slide that is labelled "for 7 years up"
