Our Holiday

We spent our first family holiday in Lake Rotoma. We did lots of fun things together,
but basically it was a chance for a change of scenery and to chill out. And chill we did. Man it was cold up there!

Xander occupied himself rearranging the wood pile, feeding the lambs, and generally exploring his new environment. The neighbours up the road had started excavating and had created "Mt Rotoma". Xander climbed it with the help of his dad!

At Kawarau, we loved swimming in the thermally heated pools. The fact they were free made it all the more appealing!

Cynthia (one of our lovely friends) who lives at Rotoma told us about the waterfall, and we went to have a look at that (it was GORGEOUS!!) as well as the soda springs where the stream is naturally thermally heated. We didn't have a go there, so that will be a must for next time.
